I`ve always seen slotted pegheads on a 12 fret.So what`s wrong with a solid head? Seems to me it`s just looks. It`s seems that there isn`t a lot of options for tuners with a steel string with a slotted head.I mean who can afford those Waverly`s. James |

Lots of old Martin 12 fretters are slab heads ... friends have a 1917 0-18 slab, 1929 0-18K slab ... |

I absolutely love the look of a slothead and have made 5 of them so far. I also like where the bridge resides on the top...there is no sweeter spot IMO. I just wish we had more choices in tuners. I've used both Grover 18:1 and Waverlys and once tried the Gotoh model that LMI sells. It's hard to be satisfied with anything else once you've tried Waverlys. |
